Happy Almost Fall,
Can you believe that it’s September already!?!? Wasn’t March like just yesterday
While the summer has been a blast, I’ve spent a lot of time on Tiktok growing my own account and my clients’ in tech space!
After doing this multiple times, I’ve have boiled down a strategy which works every single time! If I have to start any new account, I will be using the exact same playbook!
ANNOUCEMENT:
I am super excited to launch my free Tiktok For Business Playbook for organic growth. This is the exact step by step guide my team and I use when we start growing a new account for our clients.
If I haven’t convinced you already, just take a read anyway as it might change your mind. If you’re already convinced about Tiktok, can’t wait to hear about your account’s success! :)
Also, once you’ve your strategy down and you can get my Full Tiktok Growth Guide to figure out how Tiktok works, what works on Tiktok, how to film videos, best time to post, etc, you can check out my detailed Tiktok Growth Guide along with a 30-day content schedule template
Reason #3 why you or your brand must be on Tiktok
When you pick up your phone, record yourself showing how your product works or what your expertise is, that’s like giving a free demo to hundreds if not thousands of individuals.
Try setting up an eWebinar and inviting that many people to check-out what you do. Just imagine the amount of work it would take and cost associated with it.
If a room full of just 20 people watch you present about a topic, you will likely be over the moon. So if 100 people watch your video everyday, isn’t that good for your business?
Still don’t know how to start? Check out my free Tiktok Playbook :)
Tiktok Ads
Tiktok has built a ginormous business around Tiktok Ads. It’s on track on to triple its Ad revenue this year. In 2021 it generated $3.8B+ just through Ads 🤯
So it is not surprising that most marketing teams are increasingly shuffling their budgets to increase their allocation for Tiktok Ads.
We have 5 major types of Ads you can run on Tiktok
1. In-Feed Ads
2. Branded Hashtag Challenge
3. Branded Effects
4. Brand Takeover
5. TopView
In-Feed Ads
In-Feed is most commonly used Ad type where you can spend as little as $20 to get started!
These are the posts you see when you’re scrolling through your feed. It looks just like another Tiktok on your feed but it would have a “Sponsored“ tag.
You can upload your own creative for this Ad or you can request whitelisting rights for a video already created by a creator on the platform and run it as a Spark Ad. We will dive into Spark Ads next week :)
Branded Hashtags
This is quite a unique brand awareness opportunity. Basically, brands pay for a hashtag to be trending* so more people start using it in hopes of getting push from the algorithm. It’s an interested way of creating awareness through organic user generated content
Again, it’s not cheap to run this type of Ad either
Branded Effects
If you’ve ever used Snapchat as a user or an advertiser, this will be easier to understand. Basically you will be creating an effect (filter) which people can use in their organic videos
Brand TakeOver
If you use Tiktok you might have noticed that when launch the app, it starts with a 3-5 seconds long full screen display of an image or a gif. That’s a Brand TakeOver and as you can tell it’s going to be expensive.
TopView
This is similar to Brand TakeOver but not quite. You can run a full-screen video up to 60s in length and it is the first in-feed video a user will see when they open the app!
So it won’t be in your face as soon as you open the app like Brand TakeOver but first video for anyone who’s excited to binge Tiktok before going to bed!
Now you can probably tell that unless you’re a big corp, in-feed ads is going to be your best friend so we will dive into Spark Ads soon!
Similar to Instagram/Facebook you need to setup a Tiktok for Business Ads account to be able to run any ads!
Please leave a comment if you have any questions as it’s a really big topic and we can get into so many details.
Hit Post!
So did you end up posting a video last week? If not, what stopped you? I want to hear your thoughts :)
Also, here’s a crazy idea:

Please drop me an email or leave your username/video link in the comments if you want feedback :)
Next week, I will talk about Spark Ads and what makes Spark Ads super effective for most marketers on Tiktok
See ya next week!
Enjoy the last few days of summer while you can (Assuming you’re not from the land down under)
